On Wednesday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman had meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian IT-sector to discuss possible state support to and development of the sector.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the Ukrainian IT-sector has a good potential and can become a locomotive of the country's economy, thus, the state has to invest in the development of this sector.
Groysman noted that Ukraine has a good base of well-qualified IT-specialists. At the same time, he added that the sector has a number of problems that protract its development and require settlement.
IT-sector representatives noted the necessity for changes in the tax system, as well as for the support to the sector both in Ukraine and to its products abroad.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada called for elaboration of a strategic action plan for the development of the IT-sector in Ukraine within the forthcoming years.
The meeting participants were heads of a number of leading Ukrainian IT-companies: EPAM, USCUTUM, SigmaSoftware, NVP Medirent, Digital Ukraine, IT Ukraine, Microsoft, ІТ-Committee of the European Business Association, CIKLUM, ORACLE, ІТ-Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, DATA Group, ІТ Ukraine, LLC Astound Commerce, OMP, Luxoft, Oktava Capital, AltexSoft, IQusion, etc.
